IDE Port Enable (AMM-1525M/525M Only)

Pins 1 and 2 of jumper block J4 enables or disables

the IDE port address. The available settings are

If you are using the IDE controller on the host

adapter, leave this setting enabled. If you are not

using the IDE controller on the host adapter, disable

this setting.

Inserting the Host Adapter in an Expansion Slot

WARNING: Turn OFF and disconnect power

to the computer and external equipment

before removing the chassis cover.

1 Remove the computer’s chassis cover to expose

the expansion slots and external access covers.

2 Locate an available 16-bit expansion slot and

remove the corresponding expansion slot screw

and cover.

3 Align the bus connector on the bottom of the host

adapter with the expansion slot and carefully

press it down into the slot.

4 Secure the host adapter bracket to the computer

chassis with the screw from the removed expan-

sion slot cover.

Connecting SCSI Devices

(AMM-1525M/1510M Only)

SCSI devices are connected to the host adapter by a

50-pin SCSI ribbon cable with a 50-pin header con-

nector. They are cabled together in a single, con-

nected series called the SCSI bus. Connecting SCSI

devices also involves terminating the SCSI bus and

setting SCSI IDs.
